Description

NVIDIA Mellanox MBF20-DKIT BlueField-2 USB 2.0 Debug Cable, Type-A to Mini-B: This is the dedicated USB 2.0 debug / development cable used to access the on-card management console of NVIDIA Mellanox BlueField-2 DPU adapters. The MBF20-DKIT terminates in a USB 2.0 Type-A host connector at the workstation end and a 30-pin shrouded Mini USB Type-B connector at the DPU end. This is not a generic USB cable; the shrouded connector is keyed to the MBF2 family debug header. This is a new (factory-sealed) unit.

Engineering Context

BlueField-2 DPUs expose a serial console and firmware-flash interface over a vendor-specific 30-pin shrouded Mini-B header. The MBF20-DKIT carries USB 2.0 data and management signaling between the host workstation and the DPU, allowing operators to recover bricked firmware, capture boot logs, and configure the embedded ARM cores from a serial terminal. The shroud and key prevent accidental insertion of a standard Mini USB cable, which lacks the additional pins required by the BlueField-2 debug header.

Designed for BlueField-2 (MBF2 series) cards with a 30-pin shrouded Mini-B debug header, including the MBF2H516A-CEEOT, MBF2H516A-CENOT, MBF2M516A-CECOT, MBF2M516A-CEEOT, and MBF2M516A-CENOT. Not compatible with BlueField-1 (MBF1 series) or BlueField-3 (MBF3 series) DPUs, which use different debug interfaces. Not a substitute for a generic Mini-B USB cable for consumer electronics; the shrouded keyed connector will not mate with non-Mellanox sockets. Cable length and pinout are vendor-specific; do not use third-party Mini-B cables on the MBF2 debug header.
